In recent years, magAssist, a notable high-end innovative medical device company in the Yangtze River Delta region, has been persistently piloting new models of university-enterprise cooperation in industry-education integration, talent cultivation and international exchanges, hoping to accelerate the innovative development of the industry and create win-win opportunities for students, universities and the community.


Conducting industry-university-research cooperation with Double First-Class universities to foster industry R&D and transform innovative achievements


In 2021, devoted to following up on the industry-education integration goals put forward in the 14th Five-year Plan (2021–2025), magAssist conducted industry-university-research cooperation with the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Soochow University, on launching a joint laboratory for an intelligent artificial organ innovation platform.

Industry-university-research cooperation is a major driving force of technological innovation for both sides. With in-depth communication, magAssist gains access to the latest research information and achievements, while the university gains insights into the technological challenges and demands facing enterprises, and can adjust its research directions accordingly. The two sides leverage their complementary strengths to realize coordinated development for mutual benefit, transforming Soochow University’s technical wealth into magAssist’s market superiority for the benefit of our whole society.

Deepening university-enterprise practice and cooperation with Sino-foreign joint venture universities to nurture high-end & international talents


In 2022, magAssist was pleased to establish a teaching and practice base in partnership with Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), aiming to help enterprises and industries meet their development needs while empowering the high-quality development of innovative talents. Another 15 outstanding enterprises in the field were granted the title “Teaching and Practice Base of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University”, including NIO, Bosch, KPMG China and Orient Securities.

The cooperation between magAssist and XJTLU enjoys a solid foundation. Over the years, a wealth of XJTLU students have come to magAssist for immensely beneficial internships. As one student said, “magAssist extended me great trust and motivated me to work on a broad range of projects, which persistently propelled me to unlock my competence to the full.”

Meanwhile, magAssist worked with the SEU-Monash Joint Graduate School (SEU-Monash) on holding the Universities Industrial Design Competition. from SEU-Monash’s Master of Industrial Design program, involving projects initiated by magAssist’s clinical team such as app design and the connection between medical devices and the human body.


One winner said, “Only with the incredibly useful data and virtuous guidance that magAssist offered us could I have created such achievements out of nothing. After two months on the project, I acquired a wealth of valuable expertise and experience.”

Collaborating with international universities and professional associations to boost global academic and industrial exchanges


As a company with cutting-edge technologies, magAssist has doubled down on its international exchanges and is honored to sponsor the Heart Hackathon, a total artificial heart design competition. Developed by Monash Young MedTech Innovators (MYMI) and supported by the International Society for Mechanical Circulatory Support (ISMCS), the competition is dedicated to bridging the gap between enterprises’ innovative technologies and universities’ research achievements, constructing a student-oriented platform for the transformation of research achievements and finally adding its brick to the innovation and progress of artificial heart technology.


As a judging panel member, magAssist was invited to attend multiple online symposiums at which it shared its R&D experience and industry insights with elite research talents from Australia, Europe, Africa, Britain, the U.S. and other parts of the world. By helping students to optimize their bold and novel designs, and put them into actual practice, magAssist aspires to jointly explore the next generation of artificial hearts and facilitate academic exchanges and talent development across the globe.
